Marjan Šterkreceived his BSc in 2000 at the Faculty of Computer Science
and Informatics, University of Ljubljana, and was awarded a
Preseren prize for his thesis. He received his MSc and PhD degrees at
the same faculty in 2003 and 2005, respectively. He has been involved in
research since 1998, working at the Jožef Stefan Institute until early
2006 and at Xlab since then. His research interests include network
topologies, scientific computing, parallel numerical algorithms, and
distributed computing. He also works as a developer on software for
acquiring and processing of medical data, fluid flow simulations and
other software.
